SICCMI — the Interamerican Society of Minimally Invasive Surgery — is the leading network dedicated to advancing minimally invasive spine surgery across the Americas. Founded in 2006, we bring together over 500 surgeons, researchers and healthcare professionals from 15 countries, united by a commitment to promoting excellence in education, collaborative research and knowledge exchange across South America, the Caribbean, Central America and North America.
Our work spans from continuing specialist education to publishing scientific research and organizing international congresses that bring together the leading names in the field. We collaborate closely with academic institutions and hospitals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in spine surgery.

Founded in 2006 with a clear and ambitious vision, SICCMI was born from the need to create an interamerican network dedicated exclusively to minimally invasive spine surgery. Traditional spine surgery procedures, while effective, often involved long recovery periods and significant complication risks. Faced with this scenario, a group of visionaries decided to join forces to drive change and make minimally invasive surgery more accessible and safer for patients. What began as that group of pioneering surgeons has become the leading society in the field across the Americas.
